Aitana Bonmati to shun offers and commit future to Barcelona

Aitana Bonmati is set to shun offers to leave Barcelona and sign a new contract with the Catalan giants.

The 2023 Ballon d’Or winner is into the last year of her current contract with the club but has now reached agreement over an extension, according to Catalunya Radio.

Aitana will become the highest-paid player on the women’s team and an announcement is expected shortly.

The report also adds that Women’s Super League side Chelsea had been willing to splash out to land Aitana and had made an offer, but the superstar will remain in Catalunya instead.

Aitana is seen as the best female player on the planet right now and has been at Barcelona since the age of 13.

The Spain star has enjoyed incredible success in recent years, winning everything with Barcelona and also lifting the World Cup with La Roja

Aitana has also won a host of individuals awards and is the favourite to lift the Ballon d’Or again in October.
