Barcelona president Joan Laporta reportedly wants to make a “star signing” next summer in his last big transfer window before the next elections.
The Catalans have already been linked with free agent moves for Joshua Kimmich and Jonathan Tah but could also spend big, according to Diario Sport.
Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala has emerged as Laporta’s big hope for next summer, although it’s thought he would cost a whopping €130 million.
Musiala’s contract expires in 2026 and Barcelona and top clubs across Europe will be keeping tabs on his situation at Bayern.
Bayern are thought to have made a contract offer renewal already to Musiala but are yet to hear back from their young star.
Real Madrid are also thought to be interested, but Sport claim Los Blancos are focused on trying to sign Rodri from Manchester City next summer.
Barcelona will also have to find a way to afford such a transfer. Laporta has already claimed transfers will be back to normal by January with the Nike kit deal expected to solve many financial problems.
