Lionel Messi has been talking about his love for Barcelona once again in a new interview and says he’s hoping the club can win the Champions League again soon.

Barcelona haven’t lifted the European Cup since 2015 and have instead had to watch rivals Real Madrid dominate the competition in recent years.

Messi was obviously supporting Borussia Dortmund in last season’s final and says he wants to see the Blaugrana enjoy success in the competition once again.

“We were supporting Dortmund obviously, I’m a Barcelona fan and if theoretically Barcelona was in the final, Real Madrid fans would support the opponent too, that’s how it is in football,” he told ESPN.

“Since childhood I’ve been a Barcelona fan, I love Barça, today I’m just a fan from afar and I hope we will fight for the Champions League again, it’s been a long time since we won one.”

Messi also looked to the future and admitted that Inter Miami is probably going to be the last club he plays for before he finally decides to hang up his boots.
